A judge has dismissed allegations that JPMorgan Chase helped a crooked home health aide siphon hundreds of thousands from her 93-year-old charge before she tossed his ashes.
The family of Philip Abrahams, who died of cardiac arrest in 2012, accused the bank of turning a blind eye as aide Trudy Weste Williams forged his signature to give herself power of attorney and control over his funds.
His niece, Christine Adams, sued JPMorgan Chase last year. A judge said there wasn’t enough evidence of wrongdoing by Chase and let the bank off the hook.
