Just eight days after maraschino cherry king Arthur Mondella killed himself during a drug raid, a Brooklyn federal judge ruled Wednesday that his collapsing company must immediately pay off roughly $100,000 in debts.

California Fruit Processors demanded the dough in a suit last week after learning of Mondella’s death.

The distributor wanted to get paid for its deliveries before the Mondella company’s finances grew any murkier and got tangled up in legal actions, court papers state.

Judge Kiyo Matsumoto agreed with the company’s argument and ordered the cherry company to pay off its debts.

The exact sum has yet to be determined.
