Here’s a legal decision that should have Osama bin Laden spinning in his watery grave.

A judge yesterday recommended holding al Qaeda liable for nearly $9.4 billion in damages to several insurance companies for the payments they had to make after the 9/11 terror attacks.

In a report to the judge presiding over the case, Manhattan federal Magistrate Judge Frank Mass said the companies were “clearly entitled” to triple damages under the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2001.

Manhattan federal Judge George Daniels granted the insurers a default judgment against al Qaeda in 2006 after the terror group failed to answer their suits.
