A federal appellate court judge on Thursday shot down the Bloomberg administration’s request for an expedited appeal of the stop-and-frisk reforms ordered last month by federal judge Shira Scheindlin.

Second Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Richard Wesley ruled against the city’s claim that its pending appeal of Scheindlin’s controversial Aug. 12 ruling must be resolved quickly because carrying out the new reforms threaten to disrupt NYPD operations.

The city is appealing Scheindlin’s findings, which include that the stop-and-frisk policy was carried out in an unconstitutional manner by unfairly profiling blacks and Hispanics.

City Corporation Counsel Michael Cardozo said, “This decision has no bearing on the merits or importance of the case.  We’ll be moving ahead … as quickly as possible.”
