A veteran criminal court judge is on the other side of the bench suing to keep her family’s longtime East Village home.

Ruth Pickholz grew up in the Village View complex and moved out in 1977, but has been staying there on weekends to care for her disabled sister, her Manhattan Supreme Court suit says. The city’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development ruled that Pickholz has no succession rights to the unit after her sister’s recent death.
