A New York State law regulating the marketing and labeling of kosher food doesn’t violate the US Constitution, a federal appeals court ruled yesterday.

The finding rejected a First Amendment challenge to the law.

“The Kosher Act merely requires food products marketed as kosher to be labeled as kosher,” US Circuit Judge Christopher Droney wrote.

The appeal had been filed by Long Island’s Commack Self-Service Kosher Meats Inc.
