A jury has awarded a New York woman $9 million for injuries she suffered in a 2004 car collision in Westchester County.

Cristina Grossman will ultimately receive only $1.1 million due to a pre-verdict agreement with defense lawyers, according to the Journal News.

Her lawyer, Adam Cahn, said the collision left her with obsessive-compulsive disorder and unable to work.

Her lawsuit claimed a car cut in front of her BMW in Pleasantville on Oct. 11, 2004. The cars collided, sending her car into a third car.

The Manhattan jury returned the verdict earlier this month, awarding $2.5 million for pain and suffering; $3 million for future medical costs; and $3 million for future loss of earnings.

It also found the other driver 75 percent responsible for the accident.
