Ex-con Demetrius Blackwell faces up to life behind bars if the panel of seven women and five men convicts him of fatally shooting NYPD officer Brian Moore in the head in May 2015.

Moore, 25, and his partner, Erik Jansen, had just pulled up to a Queens Village apartment when they noticed a man adjusting his waistband.

“Brian said, ‘Police, man,’ held up his shield and said, ‘You holding something? You got something on you?!’” Jansen told jurors when he took the stand during the three-week trial. “He said, ‘Yeah, I got something!’ and he turned right towards the car and shot Brian.”

Jansen later identified Blackwell in a line-up.

“He’s remorseless and just doesn’t give a damn,” Queens Assistant DA Dan Saunders told jurors during his closing arguments.

Blackwell’s lawyer painted his client as an ill individual, whose “seizures and psychosis” were responsible for him opening fire.
