NEW HAVEN, Conn. — A Connecticut jury is in its fourth day of deliberations on whether a man convicted of killing a woman and her two daughters in a home invasion should get the death penalty or life in prison.
Jurors pondering punishment for Joshua Komisarjevsky (koh-mih-sar-JEV’-skee) sent out their first note Wednesday as they sought guidance on how to weigh his role against that of his accomplice, Steven Hayes. They are continuing deliberations Thursday in New Haven Superior Court.
Hayes is on death row for killing Jennifer Hawke-Petit and her daughters, who were tied to their beds and left to die in a fire.
Komisarjevsky was convicted in October of the killings and of sexually assaulting Hawke-Petit’s 11-year-old daughter.
