She could get by with a little help from Hill’s friends.

Kathryn Garcia has one of Hillary Clinton’s heavy-hitting fundraisers in her corner as she surges in the polls, The Post has learned.

The move comes at the same time Garcia has been strapped for cash, and donors, as compared to her competition, including front-runners Eric Adams, the Brooklyn borough president, and entrepreneur and 2020 presidential candidate Andrew Yang.

Clinton’s former deputy national finance director Lisa Hernandez Gioia sent out an email in support of Garcia this week, billing herself as Garcia’s “Super Volunteer, Self-Appointed Finance Chair & GOTV [get out the vote] Captain.”

In the email to Democratic donors seen by The Post, Gioia writes that to support Garcia, “I’m hosting a Zoom event, and will have an in-person opportunity soon.”

She added: “Obviously, we need money — other candidates have more of it, plus they have SuperPACs.” The upcoming Gioia-hosted events have a max donation of $2,000, according to her email.

A political insider told The Post of Gioia’s involvement: “Lisa is not just one of the top fundraisers in NYC, but in the country. She’s very sought after.” The source added, “Garcia has momentum, but no money. Her challenge is to get a real campaign going. She has no structure at all. There is a lot Lisa could do.”

Gioia’s email says she’s helping Garcia “as a friend (not in any official capacity).”

She adds in the message: “Kathryn Garcia is a friend. I’ve known her for over ten years, and since before she announced her candidacy I knew she would be the best person to lead NYC.”

Garcia, a former sanitation commissioner, has shot to the top three in a pair of recent polls. But according to the New York Times on May 22, she was next-to-last in donors, at No. 7 ahead of only Shaun Donovan.

Garcia was also No. 7 out of eight Democratic candidates in donors outside New York, and in money raised, with the primary approaching on June 22.

Well-connected Gioia’s LinkedIn page says she “managed all finance activities in the Tri-State Region for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign” and “ran all fundraising events in the region with Hillary, President Clinton and dozens of other campaign surrogates.”

She also “managed the finance committee of the region’s top fundraisers and donors, which eventually grew to a distinguished group of 1,200 people.”

Gioia, currently a partner at Ichor Strategies, is married to former City Councilman Eric Gioia, who joined JPMorgan Chase in 2010 and is now a managing director there. Said a source, “They’ve known Kathryn for a long time, they’re quite a power couple.”

Garcia has endorsements from the New York Times and various political leaders and Democratic clubs. Her campaign did not return an email seeking comment.

Gioia’s email supporting Garcia also tells recipients, “Do you want to volunteer? Have a group she should speak to? Let me know. I’ll connect you with the right people on the campaign ASAP.”
