Nebraska Republicans yesterday charged a Democrat running for senator in the Cornhusker state actually lives in Greenwich Village.

The Nebraska GOP complained that Bob Kerrey, the controversial ex-president of The New School and a former Nebraska governor and US senator, shouldn’t be allowed to run for his old Senate seat.

Kerrey has lived for the past 11 years in New York and hastily registered to vote in Nebraska to meet a residency requirement.

“In our view, Mr. Kerrey has committed an election falsehood,” the complaint to the Douglas County Election Commission said.

Kerrey’s campaign manager couldn’t be reached for comment.

Kerrey headed The New School from 2001 to 2010 but wore out his welcome. The Senate faculty issued a no-confidence vote in 2008.
