The head of Mayor de Blasio’s Office of Operations has resigned from her post just a few months ahead of the mayoral primary.
Mindy Tarlow, who was appointed by de Blasio in January 2014, is leaving her job to become a managing director at Blue Meridian Partners, a donor partnership that invests in nonprofits serving disadvantaged youth.
“Mindy’s last day was June 9th,” City Hall spokesperson Natalie Grybauskas said.
“The administration is grateful for her leadership and service to the city, and we wish her well.”
There was no public announcement before she left.
Before working for de Blasio, Tarlow was the CEO and executive director of the Center for Employment Opportunities, a nonprofit that works with former inmates.
Emily Newman, who is currently the first deputy commissioner with the Department of Citywide Administrative Services, will take over as acting director of the Office of Operations, which monitors the performance of 44 agencies.
