A few want-to-be GI Joes were found toying around with an inactive grenade in Brooklyn Thursday afternoon.

Real life cops responded when the kids were spotted with the inactive explosive on the 500 Block of 82nd Street in Bay Ridge, authorities said.

Even state Sen. Martin Golden weighed in on the incident, thanking the lawmen of Brooklyn for responding to the unexplosive scene.

“Thank you to the New York City Police Department, the 68th Precinct, and the Emergency Services Unit, for their outstanding work and for keeping us safe,” Sen. Golden wrote on his Facebook page.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
