Two children were critically injured when the car they were riding in was sideswiped by another driver on Staten Island on Wednesday night, police said.

The girls were riding in a Honda Accord with a relative heading northbound on Hylan Boulevard near Bryant Avenue in New Dorp at about 9:35 p.m. when a Dodge Charger rammed into them, cops said.

The kids, an 8-year-old and a 10-year-old, were rushed to Staten Island University Hospital North and were in critical but stable condition, authorities said.

The driver of their car, believed to be their father or uncle, was not injured in the smash up.

The driver of the Dodge Charger, a 22-year-old woman, was taken into custody at the scene, police said.

She may face a driving with a suspended license charge, authorities said.
