An unhinged man armed with a utility knife attacked an MTA bus in the East Village Thursday night — but was brought down by the bus driver and other good Samaritans, authorities said.
The unidentified man climbed onto the windshield of the bus at about 8 p.m. near 14th Street and Second Avenue and began stabbing the outside of it with his knife, video of the incident shows.
The bus driver then got a running start and brought him o the ground, according to the video.
The driver and other good Samaritans then subdued him until police and other first responders arrived.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital for psych evaluation, police said.
