The knife-wielding maniac who allegedly slashed a crew of court officers in a shocking Manhattan courthouse attack ranted against the system in bizarre handwritten notes, prosecutors revealed Tuesday.

Jonathan Wohl, 37, carried a notebook and scraps of paper during the “premeditated” Monday morning slashing, where he jotted, “Give me liberty or give me death,” and railed against the justice system, prosecutors said at his arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court.

“One of the pages marked both give me liberty or give me death in large print,” Assistant District Attorney Taylor Holland said. “Other pages included various remarks about the court system of police.”

More than 50 court officers packed the courtroom as Wohl was charged with attempted murder and assault and ordered held without bail at Rikers Island.

“This illustrates and highlights what court officers deal with on a daily basis — the dangers of keeping the judges, the employees and the public safe in our courthouses,” said Stephen Mikos, president of the state Court Officers Association.

The union head heralded how fellow officers jumped into the fray to take down the unhinged attacker.

“As you could see, the response of the officers, how they reacted basically saved lives that day,” he said.

Holland, the prosecutor, said the accused slasher used a curved knife – adding the attack could have been fatal if the weapon had been a straight-edge blade.

The shocking caught-on-video attack shows the knife-wielding nut calmly going through a security checkpoint at the entrance of the 100 Centre Street courthouse – but suddenly bolts and unleashes the crazed attack on the officers.

Among the bizarre scribblings allegedly carried by Wohl during the attack was a page that read, “Protect Rodney Hinton,” prosecutors said, an apparent reference to the Ohio man charged with mowing down and killing a retired sheriff’s deputy last month.

Hinton’s son had earlier been shot dead by cops after stealing a car.

Prosecutors said Wohl has a prior conviction dating to the early 2010s for felony drug possession and resisting arrest. 

In one of his more recent clashes with Manhattan court officers, he was forcibly booted from the courthouse in January while screaming about law enforcement, officials said. 

Prosecutors said Wohl also has at least one pending matter in New Jersey tied to an outburst at the Paterson courthouse.

“We will not tolerate that in Manhattan,” District Attorney Alvin Bragg told reporters after Tuesday’s arraignment. “I’m grateful for the work they do each and every day.”
