Los Angeles-based comedian Bob Golub lost his wallet Sunday while in the city for a gig, and thought he’d never see it again — or the credit cards and identification that were inside.

Then a subway clerk tracked him down and returned it to him, telling him a woman had found it and turned it in.

“You don’t know how grateful I am,” said Golub, who has appeared on the “The Tonight Show.” “For all the bad press New York City sometimes gets, this shows there is sometimes tremendous humanitarianism here.”
