Metal detectors could hit La Guardia HS after displays holding student work were vandalized to the tune of $20,000.

The Upper West Side art and performance school’s weekly bulletin said the “egregious” glass-cutter rampage has spurred “an increased chance that La Guardia HS will be the subject of some form of metal-detector scanning, either on a temporary or permanent basis.”

Scanning is normally reserved for the city’s most violent schools, not the one that inspired the Broadway hit musical — and movie — “Fame.”

But a schools spokeswoman said “there are no plans for a permanent metal detector.”
