A landscaper and roofer fell to their deaths in separate workplace incidents on Long Island on Monday, police said.
The landscaper, 51-year-old Vicente Oliver, plunged about 40 feet to the ground when a branch he was secured to broke outside a West Hills home at about 10:55 p.m., according to authorities.
Oliver, of Levittown, was taken to Huntington Hospital, but could not be saved, cops said.
At about 3:40 p.m. in Holbrook, worker Hector Aranda-Sanchez fell off the roof of Four Seasons Sunrooms and Windows, police said.
Aranda-Sanchez, from Peekskill in Westchester County, was pronounced dead at Long Island Community Hospital, authorities said.
Police said they, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, are investigating both deaths.
