Culinary stars gathered in Manhattan yesterday to mourn the death of an old friend — Gourmet magazine.

A “golden fork” was to be presented to the staff of Gourmet by celebrity chefs — including Emeril Lagasse and Eric Ripert — at the fifth annual “Great Gathering of Chefs” at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

Publisher Condé Nast announced that it is closing the magazine after the November issue.
