ALBANY — State Inspector General Joseph Fisch slammed Senate Democratic Leader John Sampson of Brooklyn yesterday for “obstructing” his agency’s probe into the state’s selection of an Aqueduct slots operator.

Fisch has removed himself from the probe because he was appointed by Gov. Paterson, but didn’t hesitate to criticize the Senate over the agency’s subpoena for records related to the aborted selection of Aqueduct Entertainment Group to run a “racino” at the Queens racetrack.

During an unrelated news conference with Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, Fisch said the Assembly and governor have cooperated, and “the only ones who are obstructing the continued progress of the investigation are the Senate leadership.”

Sampson responded that “he may be unaware that we have been communicating and cooperating.”
