Former Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano’s defense lawyers have been slapped with a gag order for claiming he and his wife got a hung jury last year because the prosecution’s star witness wasn’t believable.

Central Islip federal Judge Joan Azrack’s order came in response to a prosecution complaint that lawyer Kevin Keating falsely told Newsday that jurors at the couple’s first corruption trial last year “were unanimous in their wholesale rejection of the testimony of the government’s star witness and cooperator, Harendra Singh.”
