Another struggling actor allegedly smashed through the glass doors of the Ed Sullivan Theater yesterday, managing not only his big break but a performance that New York’s Finest agreed was simply arresting.
Alvin Moore, 42, in an effort to get noticed, hurled a newspaper box through the door of the building where David Letterman’s show is taped, Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said.
Cops busted him on charges of burglary and criminal mischief.
The struggling actor and aspiring set designer saw reports of the drunken 22-year-old man who on Sunday attempted to break into the theater and “was jealous of the publicity,” Kelly said.
Moore, a former Staten Island resident, lives in Sebring, Fla., where he performs in and designs sets for Highlands Little Theatre productions such as “Aida.”
He’s also the author of a self-published manifesto titled “Visions of a Self-Named Prophet or The Legend of Exterminator 13,” and he says he’s a “schizophrenic.”
Bail was set at $10,000 at his arraignment last night.
