AMITYVILLE, N.Y. — Authorities are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case of a kitten thrown from a car window on Long Island.
Roy Gross, chief of the Suffolk County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, called the June 8 incident in Amityville “a horrible act of animal cruelty.”
The 9-week-old black kitten, named Beetle, suffered broken legs.
Gross tells Newsday that the male cat was treated at the North Shore Animal League in Port Washington and is recovering with a foster family.
The suspect could face felony animal cruelty charges.
