A driver fleeing Long Island cops smashed into a car yesterday afternoon, killing a woman, officials said.

Riverhead police broadcast a description of a car driven by three suspected shoplifters at 1 p.m. A sheriff’s deputy spotted the vehicle on the Long Island Expressway in Shirley and pulled it over.

The suspects sped off as the officer approached, and led police on a high-speed chase before crashing into the other car in Bohemia.

The man driving the car they struck and his female passenger were taken to Southside Hospital, where the woman died.

The suspects suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Charges against them are pending.
