CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. — A Long Island couple is accused of committing 11 armed robberies in about a month.
Dalshawn Artis and his girlfriend, Sarah Zarba, pleaded not guilty at their arraignments Monday in Central Islip.
Suffolk County police said the pair — one toting a BB gun that looked like a rifle — targeted small businesses.
According to Det. Sgt. John Best, Zarba told authorities she was a drug addict and they were “out of money.”
Messages left at their home and with Zarba’s attorney were not immediately returned.
