A Long Island man is being held without bail after being charged with strangling his girlfriend in front of their baby.
Justin Miller was arraigned Sunday on charges of second-degree murder. He is being held at the Suffolk County Jail
Prosecutors say his 29-year-old girlfriend, Teresa Heredia, was killed during an argument Saturday at the home they shared in Mastic.
Police say the 35-year-old Miller then called his sister, who called authorities.
Officers responding to the scene on Saturday found Heredia unconscious. She was later pronounced dead.
According to Newsday, the couple’s seven-month-old baby is in the care of the victim’s sister.
