LI man truly is snakebit
A Long Island man yesterday waited three hours to call an ambulance after being bitten by his pet — a poisonous and illegal rattlesnake, police said.
When cops arrived at the Floral Park home of Robert Lantier, they found other illegal reptiles, including at least one other rattlesnake, a white cobra and a 4½-foot-long monitor lizard.
Lantier was rushed to Jacobi Hospital in The Bronx, where he was given anti-venom serum and listed in fair condition. Police would not say if he was going to be charged.
