A Long Island mom was taken into custody after allegedly leaving her crying infant son in the car while she shopped at a discount grocery store Monday afternoon.

Amber-Rose Danahy, 25, of West Hempstead was arrested after concerned passersby saw the 10-month-old alone in the parked vehicle outside a Franklin Square Lidl and called 911, according to Nassau County Police.

Cops arrived and used a lockout kit to break into the car and remove the child, who was placed in the custody of another family member, police said.

Danahy was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, which carries a sentence of up to one year in prison or three years of probation.
