VALLEY STREAM — There are quite a few lottery winners on Long Island today.
Yuliya Lankri, a 37-year-old from Valley Stream, is the latest winner of New York’s $1 Million A Year for Life game.
The mother of three says she emigrated from Russia in 1991. She got the winning scratch-off-ticket from her husband as a Hanukkah gift.
She’s one of 11 Long Island lottery players who were awarded prizes Thursday.
They include a retired corrections officer from Central Islip who won about $2 million in the Money for Life scratch-off game.
Five office workers who got together won $1 million in the Powerball Power Play.
In all, lottery officials handed out $29 million in symbolic checks at the press conference.
