The New York Public Library is celebrating its 100th birthday with the completion of a $50 million renovation.
The landmark building at Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street opened in 1911.
The three-year restoration involved cleaning the building’s white marble and repairing more than 7,000 spots where the facade had deteriorated.
The roof, sculptures, bronze doors and window frames were all restored.
A rededication ceremony is planned for the building’s 100th birthday on May 23.
