A pedestrian was killed and 1,500 people on Staten Island lost power after an overnight storm dropped 2 icy inches of snow.
In Harlem, 26-year-old Roman Alavez was crossing Third Avenue at 111th Street when he slipped on the slick powder just as an oncoming green Dodge Durango approached, at 5:40 a.m., police said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver stayed at the scene and was not charged.
