Liquors Galore bash
Residents were in for a heady revel when Liquors Galore marked the first anniversary of its new store with a rollicking community celebration.
Affable owner Aaron Zimmerman, a 13-year veteran of the business, played happy host to more than 1,000 well wishers who streamed into his state-of-the-art establishment, 1212 Avenue J — a few doors down from his previous store at 1418 Avenue J — where he feted them with a wine-tasting and “lots of food” complemented by a chaser of live music, a magic and impressions show, plus a broadcast by Zev Brenner of 620 AM radio.
“It’s the nicest store that exists,” brags Zimmerman, adding that his shop boasts 350 different types of vodkas, more than 300 different single malt scotches, in addition to providing special events and even a tasting room for aficionados and novices, alike, who can stop by on Fridays — noon to 3 p.m. — to hone their skills, or just for the experience.
