A truck driving through a Long Island Rail Road crossing in Hyde Park hit a gate, causing it to come crashing down on top of a pedestrian, MTA officials said.

The box truck was driving through the Hyde Park Road intersection with the LIRR line just after 3 p.m. when it struck the gate. MTA officials said the gate or a piece of debris then his the pedestrian, who had no visible injuries, refused medical attention, and left the scene.

The incident comes on the heels of a tragic crash where three people in a car were killed when they tried to beat an LIRR train in the town of Westbury.
