A six-year-old girl playing with matches torched her family’s apartment and forced others in the building to evacuate on Christmas day, according to sources.

The blaze broke out around 6:45 p.m. and was under control by 7:22, according to the FDNY.

Emergency responders took nine residents to Kings County Hospital and SUNY Downstate Medical Center to treat minor injuries and smoke inhalation — but the property damage may take longer to heal.

“It sucks because our place is gutted and it’s getting cold and we probably won’t be able to sleep here tonight,” said neighbor Ellery Kinlock, 44. “It’s Christmas. It’s supposed to be festive and now this happens. It throws a wrench into the works.”
