An aide to scandal-plagued city Comptroller John Liu was fined for working on her own campaign with city equipment during work hours.

Economist Yudelka Tapia was penalized $4,480 for using a Comptroller’s Office computer and e-mail account for her failed City Council campaign.

Tapia also used city time to advance her work as founder of the Great Alliance Democrat Club, according to the city’s Conflicts of Interest Board.

Liu himself has been investigated for fund-raising practices.
