Long Island University has named its first woman president, former SUNY Vice Chancellor Kimberly Cline.

She is currently president of Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry. She will succeed David Steinberg, who is retiring after 27 years.

Cline said she will “build synergies between the university’s urban and suburban campuses.” She also hopes to build partnerships with industry and research institutions.
