MILLER PLACE, N.Y. — A lockdown at four schools on eastern Long Island has been lifted.

Miller Place School Deputy Superintendent Dr. Marianne Higuera said in a statement on the school Web site that the lockdown was ordered at 10:45 a.m. Friday due to an undisclosed parental domestic situation.

It was lifted at 1:50 p.m.

Higuera said the lockdown was ordered as a “preventive security measure.”

A Suffolk County police spokeswoman said there were no emergency 911 calls regarding the lockdown.

Miller Place is about 65 miles east of Manhattan.
