The East River is getting a bit saucy.

A lone tomato was spotted this week growing on a wooden pillar in the waters off of Brooklyn Bridge Park, between Pier 1 and Pier 2.

Matthew Frey discovered the healthy-looking tomato on Monday while he was paddle-boarding, and snapped a photo, he told the New York Times.

“I saw the yellow blossoms and paddled over to it,” Frey, 54, told the outlet.

“I’m used to seeing things grow here, but nothing as special as that,” he said. “Things like that just make me happy.”
