WOODMERE, N.Y.— A Long Island man allegedly went to great lengths to get a refund.
Nassau County police say Rabin Purnsrian purchased products at several CVS stores, then replaced them with imitation products before repacking them and returning the items for a full refund.
Police say the man also altered the store’s receipts for additional refunds. They say some of the products were restocked and later sold.
The 43-year-old North Woodmere suspect was arrested Tuesday. Police charged him with grand larceny, falsifying business records, scheme to defraud and other charges. He was to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday.
It was not immediately known if he had retained a lawyer.
