SMITHTOWN, N.Y. — A Long Island woman has been arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated with her 10-year-old son in the car.

Suffolk County police say they stopped Brenda Lally in Smithtown after getting a 911 tip.

She was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child and endangering the welfare of a child.

The Smithtown resident is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday.

It was not immediately known if she had a lawyer.
