A Long Island psychiatrist had been arrested on rape charges.

Nassau County Police say Dr. Marshall Hubsher of Sands Point is being charged with third-degree rape and third-degree criminal sex act.

The 62-year-old psychiatrist was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.

The district attorney’s office did not immediately know the name of his defense attorney.

A police statement says the rape occurred at 8 p.m. on April 3 during a treatment session in Hubsher’s office in Flower Hill.

The victim was a 32-year-old female patient.

Police scheduled a press conference later Thursday to discuss the case.
