A Chinese immigrant who came to the United States a decade ago with a dream to “make money,” finally fulfilled his wish on Thursday by claiming a $5 million lottery prize.
Rixue Chen, a Brooklyn chef, was one of three winners presented multimillion-dollar jackpots at New York Lottery offices in lower Manhattan.
“I was destined to be lucky,” boasted Chen, whose good fortune came courtesy of a Set for Life scratch-off ticket.
Chen, who is set to be married Sept. 26, said he plans to “live out the American Dream by buying a house, a car and doing some traveling.”
Joining him was Manuel Moreira, a hotel worker from Queens who scored the Cash4Life top prize of $7 million, and Henry Caban, a Bronx maintenance man who won $3 million from the Instant Millionaire scratch-off game.
