Lyft is investigating the alleged attempted kidnapping of a Brooklyn customer after her harrowing claims went viral on Instagram, the company said Tuesday.
The terrifying tale was posted last week by Instagram user @sofakinglegendari, who said his friend was victimized and that her driver was part of a scheme to get her abducted.
The friend says in the post that after her Lyft driver picked her up in his vehicle, he took her two blocks before stopping.
“I then ask the driver why he stops, he says, ‘Oh nothing.’ I say again, ‘Why did you stop?’ He doesn’t respond but I see him looking at me in the mirror,” the person wrote in the post that has racked up almost 100,000 likes.
Then a white van pulled in front of his car, the Instagram post claims.
“At that point, I decide I have to pull the locks and door at the same time and shoved the door,” the woman wrote. “I start running, the van begins chasing after me.”
The unnamed rider said she hid behind “a huge pile of snow and a black Jeep” until her friend came to rescue her.

A Lyft rep told The Post, “Safety is fundamental to Lyft, and the details described are unacceptable.
“We’re in touch with the rider to offer support and have deactivated the driver’s account while we investigate internally.”
The rideshare service did not share more details about the incident.
The person who shared the account on behalf of his friend did not reply to a request for comment from The Post on Tuesday.
