A worker at a high-end Madison Avenue store was busted for robbing co-workers and setting fire to the shop last month — causing almost $1 million in damages, authorities said.

James Carter, 34, allegedly swiped hundreds of dollars from the pocketbooks of female employees at Camicissima Milano, according to an FDNY spokesman.

Sources said he then set the fire with a lighter to cover his tracks.

Carter worked at Camicissima Milano for three months while the owner was in Italy.
