A lawyer for Bernie Madoff’s former finance chief has made a fresh bid to spring his client from prison on bail, saying his cooperation led to three arrests.
Lawyer Marc Mukasey urged a judge in federal court in Manhattan yesterday to set bail for Frank DiPascali at $10 million.
DiPascali, 52, pleaded guilty in August to helping Madoff’s multidecade Ponzi scheme that cost thousands of people billions of dollars.
Mukasey said information provided by DiPascali has led to the recent arrests of two of the firm’s computer programmers and Madoff’s longtime auditor.
A spokeswoman for prosecutors declined to comment.
