A male nanny was arrested for sexually abusing the 5-year-old boy he has watched for more than three years — with the abuse beginning when the child was only three-years-old, authorities said yesterday.

Richard Figueroa, 23, was arrested Thursday after the boy, on his birthday, told his parents about the abuse that allegedly occurred inside the victim’s home in Morningside Heights.

Figueroa’s lawyer said at his arraignment last night that he suffers from “past psychological issues” but declined to elaborate.

Figueroa was charged with a criminal sex act and was being held on $200,000 bond. Figueroa has also cared for at least six other kids, and cops are probing the possibility of abuse in those cases.
