A Queens surgical technician claims he was rejected for a job helping deliver babies because he’s a man.

Joel Consing, 49, applied for a surgical tech job in the Labor and Delivery Department of Queens Hospital Center last year and was told by the manager that his gender would be a problem, he claims in a Brooklyn federal court lawsuit. “She kind of hesitated and said, ‘You know this is a women’s area,’ ” Consing told The Post.

A spokeswoman for the city Health and Hospitals Corp., which is named in the suit, said it has “no tolerance” for discrimiqnation and will review the complaint.
