The hot weather was so unbearable in New Jersey this week that a mama bear and her five cubs were forced beat the heat in a family’s backyard swimming pool.

Rockaway Township resident Tim Basso says he, his wife and their two daughters, ages 3 and 5, watched from the safety of their suburban home Tuesday as they filmed the furry forest creatures cooling off for nearly an hour.

In the video, which was posted to Youtube, the black-bear clan can be seen splashing each other and playing with inflatable devices while taking a dip in Basso’s above-ground pool.

“I’m so scared,” one of his kids can be heard saying as she nervously watches the beasts tear up their “floaties.”

“They’re having the time of their life,” Basso’s wife, Justyna, assures her children.

At one point, a few of the cubs decided to test out a slide set up next to the pool — which proves to be an excellent source of entertainment for the animals.

But the shenanigans didn’t end there.

After their swim, the mama bear and her cubs took turns frolicking on Basso’s backyard swing set.

“They’ll be in someone else’s backyard tomorrow,” the dad tells his family before the bears finally leave.
