A 27-year-old man was fatally shot in the back of the head in an apparently targeted early Friday attack inside the Bronx housing project building where he lived, cops and sources said. 

Jayvontae Simmons was slain execution-style around 6:35 a.m. inside the Forest Houses NYCHA building on East 165th Street near Tinton Avenue in Morrisania, according to police and law enforcement sources.

Simmons — who lived in the building — was rushed in critical condition to Lincoln Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries, cops said. 

He had an “interaction” with the two suspects before the shooting, which was not believed to be random, the sources said. 

Both male suspects were last seen wearing all black with hoods, and one was spotted wearing a backpack, law enforcement sources said. 

Neither had been caught by Friday afternoon, according to police.
